The San Francisco Giants extended a streak from ten games to eleven in which a Giants’ starting pitcher has not earned a victory with their 10-9 extra inning victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. The streak , dating back to April 21 when Barry Zito beat the San Diego Padres, is the longest span without a victory dating back to August 4-18, 2010 (a span of 14 games).
After jumping out to an early 5-0 lead, the Giants couldn’t hold the lead and wound up having to play catch-up by the fifth inning. Despite re-tying the game in the sixth inning, from there the Giants and Dodgers found themselves in a back-and-forth game that wound up taking them into extra innings.
They finally won the game with their second consecutive walk-off homer to end a game, their fourth walk-off victory of the season.
