Found October 15, 2013 on Pro Sports Daily:
$100M for McCann?: Brian McCann could receive a deal for six years and $100 million an MLB GM told ESPN New York on Tuesday. The GM reasoned that McCann is a top-five catcher and could transition to first and DH toward the end of the deal. The highest paid catcher in the game Joe Mauer is in the midst of an eight-year $184 million deal. In March 2012 Yadier Molina signed a five-year $75 million deal to remain with the Cardinals. McCann made $12 million in 2013. McCann who turns 30 in February has already been the subject of Spend Hal's Money where we advised the Yankees to go after him. A source with the knowledge of the Yankees' thinking said that if Alex Rodriguez's suspension is upheld then the club could possibly sign Robinson Cano and McCann. We are not sure if that still applies if McCann receives nearly $17 million per year.

Who New York Yankees Fans Should Root for in the Playoffs

Yankees fans aren’t exactly accustomed to watching other teams play in October. This is normally New York time. Playoff baseball without the Yankees is just . . . weird. It’s like those vegan gluten-free pizzas; just wrong. Doesn’t look right. Doesn’t taste right. Shouldn’t happen. However, as we all know, rooting for one team isn’t as simple as saying “Go Yankees...

New book details A-Rod's alleged love for threesomes with call girls

A new book by “740″ author Michael Gross is set to dish on all the shinnanigans that took place at FIFTEEN Central Park West, where Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez rented a $30,000 per month apartment and had neighbors like Denzel Washington, Sting and Bob Costas. “House of Outrageous Fortune: Fifteen Central Park West, The World’s Most Powerful Address,” details ARod’s...

Cashman: Yeah, we want A-Rod back

You know the old saying: Don't assume, because you make ... well, wrong assumptions. Didn't you just figure that the Yankees want Alex Rodiguez's 211-game doping suspension to be upheld by Major League Baseball, so not only will they be free of the A-Rod Circus -- but also so they would also see his $25 million salary come off the payroll, a big boost as the Yanks try...

New York Yankees Position Breakdown: Third Base

Yesterday I wrote that shortstop might be the hardest position for the New York Yankees to fill this off season, but third base might be their hardest plan. Alex Rodriguez is slated to continue his appeal for the 211-game suspension handed down by Major league Baseball back in August, and assuming the process wraps up this week, the Yankees should know by Thanksgiving whether or...

Cashman: Can't Replace A-Rod

Brian Cashman did an interview on the Ian O'Connor Show and he was asked point blank if the Yankees wanted A-Rod back if he was the team's best available option at third base. Cashman's response? Duh. Per ESPN: "There are a lot of layers to that question," Cashman said. "It comes down to, 'Would we want the player we signed to...

Report: Alex Rodriguez’s Lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, ‘Nearly Came to Blows’ With Anthony Bosch’s Attorney

The verbal fisticuffs of Alex Rodriguez‘s appeals process nearly escalated into a full-blown brawl. Rodriguez’s fiery defense attorney, Joseph Tacopina, “had to be physically restrained” from attempting to fight one of the representatives of Major League Baseball star witness Anthony Bosch during a hearing at MLB’s New York offices, sources told the New York Daily News...

Carlos Beltran Wants to be a Yankee

The Yankees are a team that could use some bat power, and Carlos Beltran would reportedly be more than happy to lend his services. Let's make it happen Yankees! Beltran is set to be a free agent and according to CBS Sports, the Cardinals slugger wants to wear the pinstripes: Beltran once again "would strongly consider" signing with the Yankees when he...

A-Rod's lawyer loses temper?

The verbal fisticuffs of Alex Rodriguez's appeals process nearly escalated into a full-blown brawl. Rodriguez's fiery defense attorney, Joseph Tacopina, "had to be physically restrained" from attempting to fight one of the representatives of Major League Baseball star witness Anthony Bosch during a hearing at MLB's New York offices, sources told the New York...

New York Yankees, Carlos Beltran Have Mutual Interest In Each Other

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Carlos Beltran and the New York Yankees have mutual interest in having Beltran come to the Bronx this winter, says Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News. Beltran, who has been coming though with a few big hits for the Cards this postseason, will be 37-years-old next April, and will likely have another couple of years left in the tank to put up reasonable...

Folks, it's early, but this might not be a Yankee century

Make no mistake: The Yankees won the last Millennium. Twenty six world championships. Ha. Next "closest" were the Cardinals and A's - and the word "closest" is a joke. They each won nine. But let's ask a fundamental baseball question: What have you done lately?Well, we've been contenders. In the 2000 century, here are the current standings:Cardinals...

Brian Cashman: We Can’t Replace A-Rod

Alex Rodriguez has been a lightning rod for controversy in pinstripes, there’s no doubt about that. With a current 200+ game suspension looming in regards to the Bio-genesis scandal (Rodriguez IS appealing) and a massive contract, some might wonder why the Yankees want to keep him around. Well, it looks like Brian Cashman is an A-Rod supporter and doesn’t want him to go anywhere...

Being: Mariano Rivera

Last month, Mariano Rivera applied the finishing touches to a 19-year career, which included a major league-best 652 saves and five World Series rings. During his final campaign, FOX Sports Originals, in conjunction with Major League Baseball Productions, was granted unprecedented and exclusive access to many of Rivera's most private moments, from spring training to the final...

A-Rod's lawyer nearly fights Anthony Bosch's attorney at MLB offices

Alex Rodriguez decided last summer that he needed a street fighter in his corner to beat his 211-game doping suspension. When he hired lawyer Joe Tacopina in August he got one. The high-profile defense attorney had to be physically restrained from brawling with another lawyer two weeks ago during his defense of Rodriguez when the steroid-stained slugger’s appeal kicked off in...

Contract Crowdsourcing 2013-14: Hiroki Kuroda

Free agency begins five days after the end of the World Series. As in other recent offseasons, FanGraphs is once again facilitating this offseason a contract-crowdsourcing project, the idea being to harness the wisdom of the crowds to the end of better understanding the 2013-14 free-agent market. Note that, this year, in addition to asking readers to estimate the years/dollars each...

Yadier Molina looking for 4th trip to World Series

At least one of the three Molina brothers has played in a World Series in six of the previous 11 years. The St. Louis Cardinals need one more victory to get Yadier to the Fall Classic for the fourth time. "Obviously, we wanted to win it today, but it didn't happen," Molina said Wednesday after going 0 for 4 with two strikeouts and a pair of inning-ending double-play...
