Curtis Granderson is inching towards resuming full baseball activities, as he will have the brace on his injured right forearm removed soon, according to the Newark Star Ledger. Yesterday marked six weeks since Granderson was hit by a J.A. Happ fastball in his first spring training at-bat. The slugging outfielder has been running, taking fly balls and lifting with his legs, so he hasn’t been entirely inactive. Granderson said that he doesn’t need a lot of rehab games once he is cleared to play, so his return to the team is expected to be quick. It was first reported that Granderson would be sidelined for 10 weeks. This means we wouldn’t see Grandy back for another 4-5 weeks, which puts him in the Bronx around mid-May. Granderson, along with Mark Teixeira, are both expected to rejoin the team around the same time – barring any setbacks. The two represent major offensive firepower, and would immediately upgrade the lineup. Until they come back, the current bombers have to step up and contribute.
