The December 12th, 2012 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim including projecting Trout's career numbers, DiSarcina leaves for Boston, Greinke talks about leaving the Angels and much more... The Story: Projecting Mike Trout's career numbers. The Monkey Says: His average looks a bit low to me, if only because I'd think his speed could keep that inflated but it is hard to complain about a projection 84 career WAR.  If that comes to pass, he's a lock for the Hall of Fame as he'd be in the same WAR range as guys like George Brett and Ken Griffey Junior. The Story: Gary DiSarcina has left the Angels front office to manager Boston's Triple-A team in Pawtucket. The Monkey Says: DiSar has Red Sox ties and still has a home in the area, so this seems to be too good of an opportunity for him to pass up from a personal standpoint.  It will be curious to see if Dipoto replaces Gary quickly or keeps the spot open. The Story: Zack Greinke talks about his time with the Angels and decision to join the Dodgers. The Monkey Says: It sounds like he was willing to return to the Angels but they never made a serious offer, likely because they knew how expensive he was going to get and they just weren't willing to even entertain getting into a bidding war.  In fact, according to Zack, the Halos never really made any kind of real offer. The Story: A look at the varying first-pitch approaches of Mike Trout and Bryce Harper. The Monkey Says: Again, I fail to see why they are being compared here.  That being said, it is interesting that Trout swung at the second-fewest first pitches in all of baseball.  If I have one criticism of Trout, it is that he isn't aggressive enough at the plate sometimes and often takes pitches for the sake of taking pitches.  I appreciate his plate discipline, but it seems like there has to be a happy medium there because he is definitely missing good pitches to hit and sometimes striking out looking almost to prove a point. The Story: The Angels are hosting their annual holiday party for kids, benefiting the Angels Baseball Foundation. The Monkey Says: Several Angel player will be there, so I think I might try and sneak in.  There are lots of 6'5" eight-year olds, right? [follow]
