The Story: Mike Trout was voted the Sporting News AL Rookie of the Year. The Monkey Says: This is not the official award, but it is voted on by other MLB players, so it is a very nice honor.  The real intrigue hear though is that four players actually voted for someone other than Trout.  Say what you want about the MVP race, there is no standard by which any AL rookie was better than Trout who may very well have had the best rookie season in MLB history.  To commemorate the loss of Wilson, I leave you with this lasting image.
