There was a large vocal contingent of fans who were pissed that the Phillies allowed Pat Burrell to walk away while opting to sign the elder Raul Ibanez to a lucrative three year deal. We took the more "let's give the new guy a chance to prove himself" approach and are quite glad we did.
Raul Ibanez has made himself a fan favorite in Philadelphia in quite a short bit of time and he's done it by simply performing on the field. Raul turns 37-years-old today and he looks like he has plenty more RBIs in him.
So show Raul Ibanez your support and wish him a happy birthday by throwing him a couple more votes in the All Star balloting.
