Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper has made the transition to Major League Baseball with ease this season. Now the 19-year-old phenom is stepping into a world where his quotes go viral, then end up on T-shirts.
Harper told Comcast SportsNet Washington on Thursday night that sporting manufacturer Under Armour will soon start selling T-shirts bearing a quote he gave a Canadian reporter last week.
After a game against the Blue Jays on June 12, the reporter had asked Harper whether he would take advantage of Ontario's drinking age restrictions, which allow 19-year-old's to consume alcohol.
Harper, a Mormon who does not drink, replied, "That's a clown question, bro." The video of the incident quickly became a YouTube sensation and the quote was one of the highest trending topics on Twitter.
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 MLB Draft is batting .287 for the Nationals this season, with seven home runs and 20 RBI.

CLOWN SONG, BRO
We aren’t sure if the young phenom, Bryce Harper, maybe lost a bet or he just has a thing for Justin Bieber’s music. Either way when he came to the plate last night he was accompanied by Justin Bieber’s ‘Boyfriend’ which was blaring through the loudspeaker. Given his performance on the field lately, we are fairly sure he gets a pass.

Well, I didn’t see that coming.
I guess it’s safe to say that the Bryce Harper inspired meme, “That’s a clown question, bro” has officially jumped the shark, now that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid dropped the line at a recent press conference. It’s not that the line itself has gotten old and lame, it’s just that guys like Harry Reid shouldn’t be using it, under...
It was his trademark phrase. And now, it's his phrase that's trademarked. After a reporter asked Washington Nationals rookie phenom Bryce Harper a question that didn't quite sit right with him, Harper justified his lack of an answer by stating: "that's a clown question, bro." Those five words sure caught on quickly. Under Armor plans to produce t-shirts...
Previously on Outside the Boxscore, we featured a rather entertaining sound byte from Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper as he told off a Canadian reporter with the statement, "That's A Clown Question, Bro".
Well, it appears that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was listening and decided to pull it out during a recent press conference:
I'm totally going to wolf out tonight T...
Check out this peculiar meeting between Washington Nationals phenom Bryce Harper and CNN’s very own Wolf Blizter at the Dream Foundation Gala — Harper was front and center at the event all night, and his jersey + bat were auctioned off for $11,500. Not sure if Harper and DC are a proper long term fit. -TO

Here's Bryce Harper having a moment with Joe Theismann after batting practice prior to Thursday night's Nats win over the Rays. We're 100% certain Joe didn't tell Bryce to break a leg. (Photo via @NationalsPR)
Oh, and here's Joe with Johnny Holliday, Davey Johnson, and Ray Knight. And here's Joe as seen on TV, cheering on his favorite baseball team:

Washington Nationals third base coach Bo Porter used some acrobatics to avoid an errant throw to third by the Tampa Bay Rays, allowing Bryce Harper to score a run for the Nationals during the first inning of Wednesday night's game in D.C.. How ridiculously appropriate.
On Tuesday night against the Tampa Bay Rays, Nats outfielder Bryce Harper strolled to the plate to the sweet sounds of Justin Bieber’s hit single, Boyfriend. Now you’re probably thinking that Harper must have lost a wager or something, because what kind of grown man is such a fan of The Biebs to use one of his songs as their walk-up music? But...
The hit song "Boyfriend" by Justin Bieber was the walk-up song for Washington Nationals superstar Bryce Harper as he walked to the plate to bat on Tuesday night.Check out the video below as some fans in Washington are shocked and surprised by the song. You can hear one fan say "oh my god" while another one says "hell no."I'm not a big Bieber fan...
Bryce Harper is a young buck. Justin Bieber is a young schmuck. Harper must have a thing for young schmucks as he once emulated Bieb’s hair style and now he’s using Bieber’s “Boyfriend” as his walk-up song. Did he lose a bet? I sure as heck hope so. That’s a clown song, bro.
Another day, another amusing story about Bryce Harper. On Tuesday, we addressed the origin of the now-famous “That’s a clown question, bro” line, now we have this musical-themed anecdote. On Tuesday evening at Nationals Park, in a game that had its share of controversy stemming from Tampa Bay Rays reliever Joel Peralta’s ejection for having [...]
