The image was taken from Metsblog.com and the fan confidence ratings of Mets fans who visit the site.  As you can see the fans confidence is at a season low of 9% and it got me thinking, does this number show that a majority of Mets fans are resigned to the fact that the season is over?

The answer is, yes, most Mets fans have given up on the season especially after losing two out of three to the division leading Braves.  Being a Mets fan there seems to be a point in most seasons that there becomes a sense that the playoffs are out of reach again.  Losing this series to the Braves seems to be that point this year.

With approximately 50 games left in the season, it's going to be tough to continue watching this team while they struggle.  But Mets fans also understand that at this point it's time to find the positives of this seasons, such as, R.A. Dickey, Angel Pagan, Ike Davis and the reemergence of both David Wright and Jose Reyes.  These are the things that build hope in Mets for the future.
