The acquisition of Heath Bell is one of a series of high-profile moves that did not pan out for the Marlins this season. Coming off three straight seasons with over 40 saves, Bell was expected to step in and immediately solidify the back end of the bullpen for Miami. Instead, he blew three saves in the month of April alone, settled in for a bit from May through June and then lost his job permanently after blowing two more saves at the beginning of July. Despite the fact that he has pitched well in the set-up role over the past month of so, Ozzie Guillen has not given Bell an opportunity to reclaim his job. From the sound of it, the situation has strained their relationship. “I stunk in April, plain and simple,” Bell told “The Dan Sileo Show” on 560 WQAM in Miami Monday according to ESPN.com. “I said I stunk, I worked hard, I busted my butt. I think I’ve had a tremendous second half. I’m not closing — I know that. But I just kept my mouth shut because I want to regain what I had, a...

  • It's about time a player has the balls to trash this jerk. FLASH BULLETIN people, this guy is a horrible manager, always has been. My grandmother could have directed the White Sox to a World Series the ONE STINKING YEAR THIS GUY WON ANYTHING!!!! He has always been the kind of back stabbing manager just like bobby valentine who take players to task in the media. That's because neither one of them has the guts to do it behind a closed office door. I applaud Bell for stepping up and taking this trained chimp to task. Miami should FIRE HIS SORRY ASSSSSS NOW!!!!!

But Bell had a terrible start to the season, which led to him losing job. He [...]

Ozzie Guillen fires back at Heath Bell: ‘I don’t respect him as a person’

If Ozzie Guillen winds up keeping his job in Miami next season, Heath Bell may have to be traded. It has become evident this week that there is little to no respect between the manager and closer. During a radio appearance on Monday, Bell said it is hard to respect Guillen since Ozzie lied to him and led him to believe he would have a chance to win back the closer’s job. On Tuesday...

Bell wants to win back closer role for 2013

MIAMI Seated at a table in front of the mound at Marlins Park, Heath Bell told thousands last March what they could expect from him. After a disastrous start to this season, Bell lost his...

Heath Bell Hints That It's 'Hard to Respect' Ozzie Guillen, Calls First Season Under Manager 'Interesting'

It's probably safe to assume most Marlins fans aren't happy with Heath Bell or Ozzie Guillen. Apparently, things aren't so rosy between the two, either. Guillen, of course, has been and likely always will be a rather opinionated manager, and Bell isn't too thrilled with how the Miami skipper has been operating during a disappointing season for the Fish. "It&...

The Mets hadn't scored more than three runs in a home game since August 12th. They hadn't scored more than one run in an inning at home in a span of what seemed like a millennium. The Mets had only won 4 games at home since the All-Star break. Then the Marlins came to town and basically obliterated all of those streaks as the Mets completed their sweep of Miami with a 3-2...
