A short while ago we just learned that the Seattle Mariners have demoted starting pitcher Hector Noesi. They are sending him down to AAA Tacoma. In the interm it looks like Japanese pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma will take his place in the rotation.

Noesi who came to the Mariners with Jesus Montero in the Michael Pineda trade won a spot in the Mariners’ rotation during spring training

So far in 2012 he's compiled a 2-11 record, and a 5.77 ERA in 17 starts.

Is this the door us long-time Mariners fans have needed to see Danny Hultzen ready for promotion to the big leagues?

In other moves today Geoff Baker the Seattle Times Mariners beat writer just tweeted

Mariners make obvious move and option Hector Noesi to AAA. Not-so-obvious move is recalling OF Carlos Peguero. Interesting development.

Peguero has been on fire of late with the bat.

Baker suggests Peguero could be coming up as primarily a Jesus Montero replacement at DH if the latter goes to AAA.

Which begs me to ask. Montero to AAA? I'm awaiting word from Geoff Baker as I type this via Twitter.
