The chances of Yu Darvish pitching in America seem very likely now that the bidding process has been resolved. The Texas Rangers posted the highest bid and have acquired the rights to negotiate with his Japanese team. I think it’s appropriate that we get to know him before he arrives.
Darvish is considered to be the best pitcher in Japanese baseball. He’s pitched for 6 years in Japan where he’s amassed 93 Wins and a 1.99 ERA. He’s pitched for the Japanese National team in both the Olympics and World Baseball Classic.
He’s more than just a pitcher though. Let’s take a look at a nice little photo gallery of Mr. Darvish and get to know the man headed to the MLB.

Yeah, so you can understand...

Major League Baseball announced Monday night that the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters of Japan's Pacific League informed the U.S. commissioner's office that they have accepted the top bid for Darvish.
The Texas Rangers have acquired catcher Luis Martinez from the San Diego Padres for minor league pitcher Ryan Kelly. Martinez batted .203 (12 for 59) in 22 games for San Diego with one homer and 10 RBIs. He homered for his first big league hit on July 27 against Arizona. A 12th round draft pick in 2007, Martinez hit .323 at Triple-A Tuscon in 58 games.
