Fox Sports:
Kansas City Royals manager Trey Hillman will be back next season.
Hillman, in his second year as Royals manager, learned this week that general manager Dayton Moore wants him back in 2010 despite the team's struggles this year.
Kansas City opened the season 18-11 and had a three-game lead in the AL Central before a series of injuries and inconsistencies sent the team into a free fall. The Royals entered Friday's game against the Angels with the AL's worst record at 51-82.
