Ichiro Suzuki came over from Japan and has put together one of the best hitting careers in the history of the game. If he were playing his entire career here, he could be approaching Pete Rose’s all time hit record in a few years. We all know about that, and we all know about his gold glove caliber defense every single year. However, he’s getting paid a ton of money, and he’s not getting any younger. His value would still be probably pretty high throughout baseball, so I think it’s time that the Seattle Mariners start asking around what kind of value Ichiro has. Seattle right now is a smaller market organization, and the way the baseball logistics are set up- it might be wise to trade the guy this winter when you can probably charge an arm and a leg for him.
