I went to Yankee Stadium last Friday for the first, and most likely last time, unless something freakish happens in the next month that takes me there again. It was a great day; predicted thundershowers never arrived and instead gave way to sunshine, the Mets demolished the Yanks 15-6, A-Rod hit one of his patented solo homers down by seven runs, and I witnessed Carlos Delgado making Mets history with 9 RBI. Arguably more impressive than any of that, however, was my crowning achievement as a driver: weaving my way through massive, bumper-to-bumper traffic on the Cross Bronx Expressway with a stick shift, all while surrounded by ferocious New York drivers. I'm immensely, and probably inordinately, proud of myself.I was also quite impressed with La Stade de Yankee.
