Roberto Hernandez, the pitcher formerly known as Fausto Carmona, arrived in Cleveland on Saturday and is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Monday at Progressive Field to begin his preparation to pitch for the Indians when his suspension ends Aug. 11. On Sunday, he made his first comments to the media since being arrested for using a false identity. Amid those comments, he was presented with three birthday cakes by his teammates, because it was revealed when he was arrested that he was three years older than he claimed to be. Hernandez was granted a visa last week that allowed him to enter the United States for the first time since the end of last season. He was arrested in the Dominican Republic on Jan. 19 for identity fraud, and Major League Baseball then suspended for an additional three weeks for having played under an assumed name.
