Aren't you glad they held onto Swish?

From Bryan Hoch:

ST. PETERSBURG -- Xavier Nady has been scheduled for an MRI examination after the Yankees outfielder felt a sharp pain in his right elbow during the seventh inning of Tuesday's 7-2 victory over the Rays.

Nady said the pain came when he fielded Carlos Pena's single to right field and threw to cutoff man Derek Jeter. One batter later, Pat Burrell lofted a game-tying sacrifice fly to right that Nady had to lob in.

"It wasn't very comfortable to throw," Nady said. "Tonight wasn't a good feeling, but hopefully we'll see how it is tomorrow."

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that Nady was examined by team physicians at Tropicana Field and will have further testing performed on Thursday morning in Tampa, Fla.

"We'll just keep our fingers crossed," Girardi said.

Nady bears a scar on the elbow, on which he had Tommy John reconstructive surgery in September 2001. He said that he has experienced some discomfort at times but had not felt anything approaching the pain on Wednesday in some time.

"I'm definitely kind of nervous," Nady said. "I'll be optimistic as much as I can. Obviously I'll have a much better understanding tomorrow. It's just frustrating because it felt good for a while. Hopefully it's just scar tissue breaking up."

Hopefully it's nothing serious.
