A word from Derek Jeter helps A.J. Burnett shrug off a rare miscue.
NEW YORK -- Hello, Little Rock. You are the big winner of the first two games of the World Series.
Little Rock resident A.J. Burnett wasn't quite as dominant in Game 2 Thursday as was fellow Arkansan Cliff Lee in Game 1.
"Yeah, we've both had pretty good luck," shrugged Lee, typically unimpressed.
Burnett pitched plenty well enough, though, and more importantly, made sure the New York Yankees salvaged a split in the first two games at Yankee Stadium. He gave up one run in seven innings in winning his World Series debut 3-1 victory Thursday over the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Series heads to Philadelphia tied 1-1, with the Phillies playing host for the next three games. After Friday's offday, Game 3 is Saturday night.
