You'd think this would be a bigger story. Apparently they decided to play baseball last night after all, and the Yankees won. Huh. Look, I know Andy Pettitte is a big game pitcher and all, but can we avoid taunting the baseball gods with hastily printed, prematurely advertised merchandise? The lads at TheMikeFrancesa.com stumbled across this treasure trove of bad juju today, and it's a doozy. Not just an AL champion cap or shirt, it's an entire section of MLB's website devoted to slapping a World Series patch on something and charging you extra for it. As of right now, the link is still active, though I assume that'll change shortly. So run to the MLB shop now if you need your AL champion gear and can't be bothered to wait until the ALCS actually ends. 2009 AL Champions New York Yankees [MLB.com Shop]
