The Angels split 4 games in Seattle, but they only lost a half game to the Texas Rangers. I would say the baseball gods are smiling on the Halos. Man, I wanted the Angels to beat Felix Hernandez for the 3rd time this year. They had a good chance to do just that on Wednesday, until Scott Downs gave up a 2-run double to Mike Carp. Did you see that stat that said the Angels bullpen has blown 27% of the leads handed to them. That is not the making of a division winner. I’m to the point where I’d just as soon leave the starters in the game. Dan Haren, one start after being blasted by the Rangers, looked amazing, giving up just 1 hit through 6 innings. In the 7th he pitched out of a bases loaded jam, but still lost the game when Downs was unable to get Carp out in the 8th.
