Somebody get this chinaman off me. The lists and the guest posts are over which means that it is time for me to roll up my blogging sleeves again and get to work once more. Honestly, I can’t even remember the last time that I actually wrote one of my usual daily gems. When was the last time that I poked the big, handicapped Buckeye bear? Well, it won’t be today. I did a lot of driving this past weekend (new US 24 is the GOAT highway by the way) and thus listened to a ton of sports talk. After getting through all of the DUH-wight nonsense, the main topic was the current hottest name in all of sports and the theme for today…Yasiel Puig! If you haven’t been paying attention, here is a brief description on baseball’s new import. He is sick. He has a cannon for an arm. He is faster than an Uncle T hip thrust. No pitcher can get him out. He has breathed life into a ****** franchise. Basically, he is a more pigmented version of last year’s awesome rookie combo of Harper and Trout. He is ...

Yasiel Puig disrespects former World Series hero

Source: Christian Petersen/Getty Images The debate will continue whether Yasiel Puig should go to the All-Star game or not until MLB finds a way to place him on the NL roster. Of course that has little to do with the way the Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder gave Luis Gonzalez the cold shoulder on Monday. As Dan Dickley reported on Wednesday the Dodgers youngster ignored the former...

Dodgers have released the best/worst Yasiel Puig All-Star plug ever

The Dodgers want Yasiel Puig to be an All-Star. Yasiel Puig wants Yasiel Puig to be an All-Star. They are both desperate. This is the only reason I can think of that this plug happened. Regardless, I’ve never been more grateful for whatever string of awesome/terrible decision making led to this. 1) Puig can talk to animals. 2) Puig can do … things blindfolded. 3) Puig can...

Yasiel Puig misses out on All-Star Game spot

Yasiel Puig may have had the support, but in the end he didnt have the votes. The Dodgers rookie lost out to Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman in Final Vote balloting by fans for next weeks All-Star Game in New York. Freeman led online voting the entire way despite a push by the Dogers to send Puig.Muchas gracias de todo corazon. Thank you from bottom my heart. Quiero...

That Didn’t Take Long: Everybody Hates Yasiel Puig

The Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers don’t like each other. Most of the ill-will stems from the Ian Kennedy-Zack Greinke Beanfest back in June.  Now, the D’backs are starting to turn their attention to the mercurial Yasiel Puig. Diamondback Catcher Miguel Montero had some choice words for the reckless Puig. From MLB.com: “If he’s my teammate, I probably try to...

Freddie Freeman Wins All-Star Game Final Vote Over Yasiel Puig

The fans have spoken. Freddie Freeman of the Braves and Steve Delebar of the Blue Jays were the winners of the All Star Game final vote. Freeman vs Puigmania was an epic battle to the end, with the Freeman devotees coming out the victors. Puig being a possible player in this year’s All Star games captured the criticism of many in the baseball world. With just a month under his...

Is ESPN stumping too hard for Yasiel Puig?

With the MLB All-Star Game Final Vote campaign currently clogging your Twitter feeds today, one theme has been popping up surrounding the National League voting this week: is ESPN pushing Yasiel Puig a little too hard to win the vote? If you simply looked at ESPN's Twitter, you wouldn't get that impression. One tweet about Puig has come out since the Final Vote began...

Yasiel Puig’s interpreter got in trouble trying to get him woman’s phone number

Yasiel Puig has captivated baseball since making his major league debut on June 3. He went 2-for-4 in his debut and threw out a runner to end the game, clubbed two home runs the next game, and had four home runs and 10 RBIs in his first five games with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Though [...]

'Arrogant' Puig to sign with Jay-Z?

If you think Yasiel Puig is arrogant now, just wait until he signs with Jay-Z. The LA Dodgers phenom, who in little more than a month has become the biggest thing in baseball, spent Monday and Tuesday catching the ire of several Arizona Diamondbacks, who ripped him to the media . But by the time he took the field Wednesday, a Yahoo Sports report surfaced claiming that Jay-Z'...

It's a good thing Puig didn't make it

Despite my initial support for Yasiel Puig, I’ve come to believe that him not making the All-Star team is a good thing.

Your browser does not support iframes. Yasiel Puig made a rookie mistake on Tuesday, and Miguel Montero taught the youngster a lesson. D-backs' Gibson, Dodgers' Puig peas in a pod

PHOENIX -- Kirk Gibson sees a lot of his younger self in rambunctious, sometimes reckless Dodgers rookie Yasiel Puig. He approves. "That's refreshing to watch," said Gibson, the Diamondbacks manager. "Honestly, even from an opponent's point of view, that's refreshing." Former Tigers manager Sparky Anderson once said Gibson played 150 percent at...

Yasiel Puig, the Non-All-Star

I don’t often write these sort of unfocused think-pieces. (Well, I happen to think that I don’t, but many of my commenters undoubtedly disagree.) Anyway, I’m thinking about Yasiel Puig today. After an impressive, intensely hyped first month, the Dodger wunderkind lost to Freddie Freeman in the fans’ vote for the All-Star Game. (Of course, with injury replacements and so on...
