WASHINGTON---Adam LaRoche and Edwin Jackson of Washington both ended dry spells Wednesday night -- which helped the Nationals beat the Mets once again. LaRoche broke out of a slump with a three-run homer and four RBIs, and Jackson pitched seven strong innings to help the Washington Nationals to a 5-3 victory over the New York Mets. LaRoche snapped an 0-for-13 slump with his three-run shot in the first inning off Jeremy Hefner (1-3) to help Washington (32-22) beat New York (31-26) for the fourth time in five games this season. The home run started a good night as first baseman finished 2-for-3 with the four RBIs. "I've been through plenty of [slumps]," LaRoche said. "There's no doubt it's frustrating. The most frustrating part is ... that you're not helping the team win game. Hopefully this will start another hot streak."
