Despite the White Sox' eight-game losing streak, we're doing what we can to find positives with this ball club. One has been new reliever Jake Petricka. As we discussed in early August and here when he was called up, the 25 year-old former minor league starter has a decent shot at a set-up role with the 2014 White Sox. And so far, he's been pretty much as good in the big leagues as he had been all year. He's already made eight appearances and thrown ten innings. Single runs surrendered to the Astros on August 26th and the Red Sox on the 31st are the his only blemishes, as he has a great 1.80 ERA to his name thus far. His 1.10 WHIP is also impressive (8 hits, 3 walks), and would be all the way down at 0.625 if not for that appearance on the 31st, when he let up four hits and two walks in two innings in Fenway Park. Of course, you can't look too far into stats with such a small sample size. But given the fact that he's faced mostly very good offenses and been on a team that just keeps losing, it is good to see him on the right track early on.

Only Chris Sale, rookie Erik Johnson, and Jose Quintana have turned in quality...

White Sox skid hits 8 with 4-0 loss to Orioles

The Chicago White Sox had just dropped their eighth straight game to fall deeper into the AL Central cellar, and someone asked manager Robin Ventura if his players might be putting too much pressure on themselves to win. It was the ninth consecutive loss for the White Sox, who...
