The Red Sox avoided salary arbitration with outfielder Ryan Sweeney on Friday, and they've now done so with catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia. Saltalamacchia and the Sox have agreed to terms on a one-year, non-guaranteed contract, the team announced Sunday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Boston Herald's Scott Lauber reports that Saltalamacchia will make $2.5 million this season. This will mark Saltalamacchia's second full season in Boston, as the catcher was acquired from the Texas Rangers at the trade deadline in 2010. He hit .235 with 16 home runs and 56 RBIs in 358 at-bats over 103 games...
