J.B. Shuck may have some bumps and bruises after this one, but they were probably more than worth it after making one of the plays of the year. On Friday night, the Angels outfielder made one of the most ridiculous catches you may ever see, let alone this season. In the fourth inning, Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista lifted a deep fly ball to left field. The ball almost certainly looked gone — that is, until Shuck did the seemingly impossible. He timed his leap perfectly, reached up for the catch and held on as he tumbled head first into the first row of the stands. Somehow, he almost immediately jumped up and back on the field to fire the ball back in. Go ahead and check out the play below. We won’t blame you for watching it over and over again. Have The Seeds For A Jose Bautista Trade Been Planted?

With the recent rumours from Danny Knobler of CBS Sports regarding the Texas Rangers interest in either Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista or Edwin Encarnacion, one has to wonder if the Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos would entertain a trade this offseason for one of his premier players. Surely this kind of deal would change the entire core of Toronto’s roster. In Bautista, gone would...

Report: Jays' Cabrera back to DL

The Toronto Blue Jays are expected to place left fielder Melky Cabrera back on the disabled list after he re-aggravated his left knee injury in Thursday night's game, MLB.com reports. "His knee flared up," Blue Jays manager John Gibbons told MLB.com. "He'll go on the DL and get an MRI tomorrow. It's probably similar to what he had last time." Cabrera...

Blue Jays' Melky Cabrera likley has torn ligaments in knee

Toronto Blue Jays left fielder Melky Cabrera is headed back to the disabled list after just ten games. MLB.com's Gregor Chisholm reports Cabrera's injury as similar to what put him out of action in June for approximately a month. ESPNxm's Jim Bowden, though, tweets that general manager Alex Anthopoulos believes it could possibly be a torn meniscus. Alex Anthopoulos...

Blue Jays' Sergio Santos comes off DL, returns to the bullpen

The Toronto Blue Jays got Sergio Santos back in the bullpen yesterday after a lengthy absence.  Santos had missed the past four months because of an elbow injury.  The activation represents the end to a long and unexpected journey for Santos.  What seemed like a minor injury turned into one that has kept him out for most of the season. As Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com points...

Blue Jays place Melky Cabrera, Dustin McGowan on the DL

Melky Cabrera was pulled from last night's game in the fourth inning.  He had been experiencing irritation in his left knee.  After the game, the Toronto Blue Jays placed the outfielder on the 15-day disabled list.  This seems to be a re-aggravation of a prior injury that had kept him on the DL. Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com says the Blue Jays hoped that by bringing Cabrera...

Melky Cabrera Badly Misplays Throw, Allows Runner to Score (GIF)

This is a moment Melky Cabrera would probably like to have back. During the third inning of Thursday night’s Blue Jays-Angels game, Erick Aybar hit a single to Cabrera in left. Ordinarily, this would be common practice for Cabrera, who would simply pick the ball up and fire it to the cutoff man. But this was nothing close to ordinary. Cabrera indeed picked the ball up. He wound...

Bisons catcher Mike Nickeas couldn’t have picked a better time to hit his 1st home run of the season Saturday night as his 2-run shot lifted Buffalo to a crucial 5-3 victory over Pawtucket. “It was nice to see Mike come up and get a big hit because I know he’s scrambled this year offensively.” Bisons manager Marty Brown said following the contest. After getting off to an...

A season to forget for Blue Jays Josh Johnson

The Toronto Blue Jays hopes for the playoffs are on life support, sitting 15 games back out in the East and 10.5 games out the Wild Card race. When the Jays traded for every serviceable player on the Miami Marlins, the excitement in the Big Smoke was at the highest it's been in years. The Boston Red Sox were coming off their worst record in 52 years, the New York Yankees...

Rogers roughed up by Angels in Jays' 7-3 loss

There's no rest for the weary in the Blue Jays' battered bullpen. Their starters aren't exactly going deep into games. Esmil Rogers went five innings Saturday night in a 7-3 loss to the Los Angeles Angels, and that was the longest outing by a Blue Jays starter during the first three games of this four-game series. The Blue Jays, trying to avoid finishing last in the...
