Seriously.
So far, we've spoken only with Jerry Manuel, who didn't exactly help push the notion that the Mets have learned from the Ryan Church debacle.

When I asked Manuel what the Mets had to lose by immediately putting Wright on the DL, the manager responded, " I would think him being who he is... because of what he means, I think I would give him the benefit of the doubt."

Yeesh. "Benefit of the doubt"? It's not like we're accusing Wright of a crime.

The other lowlight came when Manuel intimiated a correlation between toughness and concussion recovery, comparing Wright to Church:

"You have to be careful into stereotyping individuals. David is a different animal, so to speak. How he is made up is a little different than, say, Ryan Church, in my opinion. That’s not to say that one is better than the other, but they’re different."
Nice.

Then there's this from Jeff Francoeur.
Q: Do you think the Mets want you to be any different?

A: No, they’re not there for my on-base percentage. It was great to hear [manager] Jerry Manuel in a team meeting say, “I don’t care about average. I care about scoring runs, driving in runs and preventing runs.” That’s the type of guy I am.
Sounds smart. Must be why he's such an awesome player.

According to this video, Matt Cain hit David Wright for trying to bone his girl.
