Alex Rodriguez despite his myriad off-the-field troubles has been the best offensive threat behind Alfonso Soriano of late but the slugger tweaked his left hamstring Tuesday night when he rounded third base and scored on a Robinson Cano RBI single in the 8th inning. He appeared to grimace on the dugout bench after sliding into home and was replaced by David Adams in the bottom half.
"I just felt a little knock coming around third said A-Rod. “But I iced it and saw the doctor. Both checked out ok."
Joe Girardi said Rodriguez could DH Wednesday and the third baseman agreed. A-Rod was 2-for-4 with two doubles an RBI and a run scored. He is batting .301.
“I feel like I’m explosive. I feel like I have an opportunity to hit the ball and drive it to all fields. I felt that last at-bat was indicative of how I’m feeling especially lately” he said.

For the fourth time this season, Derek Jeter has been sidelined. There is no timetable for his return, and unless the Yankees reach the postseason — and there is still hope on that front — there is a decent chance that he will make no meaningful contribution to the team at all this season. Even […]
Do you remember where you were 12 years ago today? I do. I was in my second grade class with all of my friends just having a normal day like everyone else when chaos started to occur. Teachers went to meet outside to try and grasp what was actually going on. After the second plane hit it was clear that this was a deliberate attack against our nation. Was there more to come? Were...

Many assumed that when he went down with that ankle injury […]

He is Derek Jeter so of course he was going to make it back for Opening Day. And when he refractured his left ankle the recalibration was to early in the second half — ahead of schedule for sure — to help save the Yankees’ season.
Jeter wasn’t going to be stopped by quad and calf setbacks and even this latest ankle misery hardly diluted the belief that somehow some way he...
