Update to the original article: According to Adam “I Want Tony Bernazard’s Job” Rubin of the New York Daily News, Johan Santana will have season-ending surgery to remove bone chips in his left elbow. The good news is that Santana’s 2010 season is not in jeopardy.  Santana should be ready to go for Spring Training. I guess this is good news for Mets fans, right?     I know it’s trendy right now to pick on the New York Mets because they have become such an easy target.  I will be the first to admit, I have piled on myself.  However, there is news coming out of New York tonight that is no laughing matter. According to MLB.com, several Mets players believe that ace Johan Santana will need surgery on his pitching elbow.  The Mets have scratched Santana from his start on Tuesday and instead will see a specialist.
