When it rains, it pours. According to Jennifer Langosch, the Cardinals pitching staff took another hit tonight when John Gast had to leave the game, after facing just 6 hitters, due to shoulder tightness. Cardinals' starter Gast leaves game early

St. Louis starter John Gast has left the game against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the bottom of the second inning. The Cardinals say Gast has tightness in his left shoulder. The rookie left-hander was trying to improve on his 2-0 record. He faced six batters on Saturday at Dodger Stadium, and left with the score tied 1-all. Gast threw 24 pitches, allowing one hit and one run. He...

Cardinals' Jake Westbrook to see Dr. James Andrews

Following the path carved by Jaime Garcia this year, Jake Westbrook is having trouble getting healthy. He will even pay a visit to Dr. James Andrews much like Garcia did before he had to undergo season-ending surgery.  That may not be the ultimate outcome for Westbrook, but the visit to Dr. Andrews is concerning. Rick Hummel of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch says Westbrook thinks...
