Two of the sporting world's youngest hot shots struck a pose in the visitor's dugout in Arlington Sunday night. Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, last season's Heisman Trophy winner, took a moment to add another cool moment to his star-studded off-season check list. Manziel got a chance to catch up with Anaheim Angels outfielder Mike Trout, last year's American League Rookie of the Year. Any time you get two of sports's brightest young stars in the same spot is a cool moment. Manziel was on hand for the Texas Rangers home game against division rival Anaheim (with former Ranger Josh Hamilton returning to the ballpark this weekend) to toss out the game's ceremonial first pitch. Prior to the game Manziel also got a tour of the home team's club house, and posed for a couple of photos with Rangers players and more... Rangers fan Johnny Manziel, @aggiefootball QB & 2012 Heisman winner, visited with the team pre-game. twitter.com/Rangers/status… — Texas Rangers (@Rangers) April 7, 2013 As for the pitch itself, it sounds as though Manziel did not totally embarrass himself. He failed to bounce the ball to home plate, but it sounds as though he did not show the best control on the throw. Insert throwing motion jokes here if you choose. It should be noted though that despite meeting Nolan Ryan, one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history, Manziel also told reporters that he still wants to meet New York Yankees shortstop and future Hall of Famer Derek Jeter. The Yankees visit the Rangers July 22-25. The good news for Manziel is SEC football media days are held the week prior, so he should be available. That epic meeting will undoubtedly happen before the summer is over. Just wait for it. Kevin McGuire is the host of the No 2-Minute Warning podcast. Follow him on Twitter, Facebook and Google+.
