According to Cesar A. Marquez of Diario Lider, former Brewers Jorge Julio Tapia has agreed to a Minor League deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The right handed pitcher will receive a new opportunity to play in the Majors after a year of absence.
Julio, 31, last played in the Majors in 2009 with the Brewers. He was 1-1 with a 7.79 ERA in 15 games. The Venezuela native arguably had his best season in 2002 with the Orioles, where he posted a 1.99 ERA with 25 saves in 68 innings.
