It seems like Los Angeles Dodgers’ infielder has more in common with Jeff Kent, who also played briefly for the Dodgers, then just sharing the same number on their jersey. More then a decade after Jeff Kent lied to the San Francisco Giants about how he broke his wrist during the spring – he claimed it happened when he was washing his pick-up truck – Sellers was arrested in West Sacramento for doing wheelies on his motorcycle.  To make matters worse, he briefly tried to evade arrest by fleeing the scene. After a short time, Sellers realized he wasn’t getting away from the law and turned himself in. According to police reports in West Sacramento, there has been a motorcyclist driving recklessly in the same neighborhood for at least a month. This seems to indicate that this was not an isolated incident. Somebody should send a memo to Sellers that he should be working on his career and trying to figure out a way to remain on the Dodgers’ roster by improving his swing instead of out endangering the safety of himself and others. Sellers’ career batting average barely hovers above the Mendoza line at a paltry .204 and a disappointing on-base percentage of just .286 after putting up good numbers throughout the minors. As writers at Mike Scioscia’s Tragic Illness suggest, Dodgers fans must be wondering if this is the straw that breaks the camel’s back and causes the Dodgers to release or trade the under-performing Sellers who appears more destined to be a career minor leaguer then a regular big leaguer.
