It’s really neat because Justin Verlander is a pitcher for the Detroit Tigers. Get it? On Friday morning, the Tigers ace tweeted a photo of himself holding just about the most adorable tiger cub in the world, tweeting that he was taking it in as his new pet. Of course, Verlander was probably joking … or was he? After all, his rumored girlfriend Kate Upton claimed that she was single during a February television interview. Perhaps a baby tiger is just the thing Verlander needs to help dull the pain. The photo that is sure to elicit “oohs” and “ahhs” follows. The tweet, presumably originating from Detroit’s spring training facility in Lakeland, Fla. as the team prepares to embark upon its 2013 regular season beginning on Monday at an expected chilly Target Field to take on the Minnesota Twins in Minneapolis: Check out my new pet TIGER! Hoping Riley gets along with him twitter.com/JustinVerlande… — Justin Verlander (@JustinVerlander) March 29, 2013 The “Riley” mentioned in the tweet is Justin Verlander’s dog. My guess is Riley would have little choice to get along with the tiger once it ceased being a cub and turned into a full-grown animal. And a larger photo: But ultimately, it was obviously all a joke. Verlander is not going to be taking in a tiger cub anytime soon, Riley will be fine and we’ll have this adorable photo to remember the occasion. But if Verlander impulsively decided to keep that little tiger cub, one piece of advice: Please, please, please, Mr. Verlander, don’t share any of your pregame meal, Taco Bell, with it. That wouldn’t be good for anybody. [H/T Eye on Baseball] TweetThe post Justin Verlander holds adorable tiger cub, tweets that it’s his new pet (photo) appeared first on Sportress of Blogitude.
