Kamieniecki was 4-1 with a 2.14 earned run average for the Harwich Mariners in the 1984 season. He had three complete games and a shutout in nine outings for the Mariners with 57 strikeouts in 67 innings pitched.

A four-year letterwinner at U-M, Kamieniecki picked up 21 career wins, tying him for 10th on the Maize and Blue's career wins list, and was a perfect 8-0 in 1985. Kamieniecki was an All-Big Ten Conference first team and All-Big Ten Tournament selection in 1984 and was a 1986 co-captain with Casey Close, who was inducted in the Cape Hall of Fame last year. Kamieniecki also had 16 career complete games for the Wolverines, putting him fourth in the school's record book.

Kamieniecki was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 23rd round in 1985 and by the New York Yankees in the 14th round in 1986. The Mount Clemens, Mich., native signed with the Yankees and spent 10 seasons in the Major Leagues, pitching for New York, Baltimore, Cleveland and Atlanta.
