Found December 29, 2012 on Busted Coverage:
The rumor of Justin Verlander and Kate Upton vacationing in St. Thomas was sent to BC yesterday, but there was little evidence to support the claim. Now we’re seeing multiple mentions from Twitter tipsters that Mr. Cy Young, and the 20-year-old you’ve been dreaming of your whole life, are in the tropics. Sure, there are no photos to substantiate the tweets. Either this is a coordinated Twitter troll or the Detroit media is about to lose their minds trying to get correspondents in country. As we’ve said over the last couple months, Verlander had to find time in her schedule to get to an exotic locale. It was a matter of pride for all men.   Didn’t take a photo.   Didn’t take a photo. Hunter: Gay teammate would be 'uncomfortable'

Torii Hunter said that having a gay teammate would be 'difficult and uncomfortable.' See the reason he gave here.

Detroit Tigers Top 15 Prospects (2012-13)

The Tigers organization isn’t known for developing a ton of in-house talent but uses prospects well to build its big league club via the trade route. With that said, the organization features some interesting prospects with improved depth in the upper levels of the system, and even has some that are almost ready to contribute at the big league level. The Tigers also picked up some...

You Think Justin Verlander’s Grandpa Was Jonesing For Kate Upton At Christmas?

We’re pretty sure Justin Verlander’s brother, Ben, wasn’t aiming to turn this tweet into a Kate Upton joke – or was he. Yes, we see that the couple on the right is also on the left. This is how white people entertain themselves in Virginia. Upton wasn’t there. From what we can decipher, JV had a pretty boring time playing a card game and acting like his family is fun. ...

Torii Hunter: believes having an openly gay teammate would be “difficult” and “uncomfortable”

Newly acquired Tigers outfielder Torii Hunter has never been one to shy away from an opinion, especially when it comes to expressing his Christian beliefs. Over the weekend, Hunter was quoted by Kevin Baxter in a Los Angeles Times piece entitled “In pro sports, gay athletes still feel unwelcome” that having an openly gay teammate would be “difficult” and “uncomfortable”...

Aurelio Rodriguez, one of the last defensive first 3B

A couple of months ago, I wrote about another former MLB player with the first name of Aurelio, Aurelio Lopez, a pitcher for the Tigers and Astros who was also known as “Senor Smoke”. Aurelio Rodriguez managed to play in over 2000 games and was one of the more underrated defensive 3B to play within the last 50 years. Part of that reason had to do with Brooks Robinson, who was...

Tigers Omar Infante's Hand Mending on Schedule

Shortly before losing the 2012 World Series to the San Francisco Giants, the Detroit Tigers suffered the loss of second baseman Omar Infante to a broken hand.  Infante was struck by a pitch on his left hand while batting in the bottom half of the ninth inning during Game 4 of the Series.  He was replaced by Danny Worth, but an inning later, the game and the Series ended with...

My Top 5 Detroit Sports Moments of the Year

5. Justin Verlander’s Near No-No Against the Pittsburgh Pirates It was a rough go for the Detroit Tigers to open the 2012 season. Sure, they may have been able to to right the ship, but early on it looked like the team was going to do their best impression of the Titanic. A bright spot came on their first weekend of Interleague Play when it looked like Justin Verlander was going...
