Right handed pitcher Kelvim Escobar, who hasn't pitched in the Majors since 2009, said in an interview today on Meridiano TV that he is planning to make a comeback. He said that he is taking care of some business in Venezuela and then he'll begin his rehab program. It will be his last chance to make it in the Majors he also said. The right hander seemed enthusiastic during the interview and said he was confident about his health. He also said that he hasn't started his rehab program yet because he wants to take care of some business first and then focus 100% on his baseball career. “I am absolutely not retired,” he said during the interview. Escobar, 36, last pitched in the Majors in 2009 for the Angels. He pitched 5.0 innings before injuring his shoulder and went 0-1 with a 3.60 ERA, 0.0 HR/9, 7.2 BB/9 and 9.0 SO/9. He has a career record of 101-91 with a 4.15 ERA, 0.8 HR/9, 3.6 BB/9 and 7.8 SO/9 in 1507.0 innings with the Blue Jays and Angels. Image by palmspringsdude under the Creative Commons License.
