Matt Kemp is expected to play in at least three games for Class-A Rancho Cucamonga as part of a minor league rehabilitation assignment. Kemp will play the first of those games Thursday, when he will be Rancho Cucamongas designated hitter in their home game against High Desert. Kemp has missed 70 games and has been on the disabled list three times this season. His current DL stint is the result of a sprained left ankle he sustained in a home plate collision in Washington on July 21. Kemp appeared to run without any problems Wednesday, a day after running the bases for the first time since his injury. This has been a tough season for Kemp, who has been limited to 62 games. He is hitting .262 with only five home runs and 27 runs batted in. Kemp might not return to the Dodgers as an everyday player, as the Dodgers have three high-caliber outfielders in Yasiel Puig, Andre Ethier and Carl Crawford. Ethier has been playing center field in Kemps absence. -- Dylan Hernandez

Kemp ready to move past 0-for-5 rehab start

Matt Kemp shrugged off the bad taste of going 0-for-5 in a Class-A game Thursday. I havent played in more than five weeks, Kemp said after striking out, grounding into two double plays and hitting just one ball out of the infield -- a ninth-inning fly to center field that ended his Rancho Cucamonga Quakes loss against the High Desert Mavericks. Kemp, returning to the field for...

Panini Printing Progressions: Like Plates, Only Evolved (Matt Kemp Edition).

I recently embarked on a fun and affordable new rainbow for my favorite player and main collecting interest, Matt Kemp. Panini put a spin on the printing plate with Progressions parallels - which are limited to just five copies per color - and come in Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black.I was able to secure the Cyan parallel for $3.99 shipped, and it's by far my favorite of the...

Dodgers' Matt Kemp targeting a Thursday rehab game

Matt Kemp may finally be ready to play in live action games.  He tested his ankle by running the bases for the first time yesterday, and all went well.  Kemp will continue to test his ankle today, but he is hoping to make a rehab start on Thursday.  That could put him back by the end of the Dodgers' weekend series with the San Diego Padres or for the start of their series...

Matt Kemp ran the bases on Tuesday for the first time since spraining his left ankle a month ago, and the Los Angeles Dodgers slugger says he's getting closer to returning. Dodgers' Matt Kemp goes 0 for 5 in first rehab game

Matt Kemp looked a little rusty while DH'ing for Rancho Cucamonga last night in his first minor league rehab game since injuring his ankle.  The Los Angeles Dodgers superstar is likely going to return to the Dodgers' active roster next week, but the team is trying to get him as much action as possible before Rancho Cucmonga's season ends on Monday. Four-Baggin' It, Tribute Style.

Topps Tribute is too rich for my blood but cheap singles abound on eBay. I was able to secure a dual relic of Matt Kemp recently for less than half a blaster, and it's a gold parallel /15 to boot.Numbered 12/15, it's the newest addition to my Bison PC and is a most aesthetically-pleasing card. The right swatch has a thread completely out and loose, which is pretty cool. Also...
