Kenny Lofton has an interesting story in his time in the Major Leagues. Lofton broke in with the Houston Astros, but his greatest fame became as an Cleveland Indian. Kenny Lofton played for the Houston Astros, Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves, Chicago White Sox, San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Texas Rangers in his long career. In 2001-2007 he played for a new team every year. Lofton had great speed and was also a threat on the base paths every time he got on.

Lofton led the American League five times in stolen bases. He was a four-time gold glove winner as well. Loften ended his career with 2428 hits and still could play the game at a high level in 2007. Many people feel that Lofton was pushed out of the game as teams went with younger talent. Teams had chances to bring Lofton in, but they never did. Most would only offer him a minor league contract. After 17 years of giving his team everything he got you would think he deserved better. It's just part of the game that aging players deal with. Being pushed aside for younger cheaper players with no service in Major League Baseball. It happens more often than people realize.

In August Kenny Lofton will be inducted into the Cleveland Indians Hall Of Fame. He deserves it as he was one of the better Cleveland Indians players during the Indians playoff years. Lofton is still very popular in Cleveland and was Lofton's favorite place to play.
