Matt Kemp Lands On DL, Sands Recalled
The Dodgers iron man Matt Kemp has been placed on the disabled list with a strained left hamstring. In a subsequent move Jerry Sands was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque. Kemp, April's NL player of the month, was leading the NL in all three Triple Crown categories. On top of that, Kemp had played in a Major League high 399 games, last missing a game on August 18, 2009. That...
Kershaw, Ethier lead Dodgers over D-backs
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The news that Matt Kemp was going onto the disabled list took some of the attention away from Clayton Kershaw's latest gem -- and his exchange of brushback pitches with fellow ace Ian Kennedy.
Kemp, the Dodgers All-Star center fielder, was downcast following Monday night's 3-1 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks, knowing he'll be sidelined for at...

The Los Angeles Dodgers will have to deal with an extended absence from Matt Kemp for the first time in over five years.
For one game, they didn't seem to miss him.
The Dodgers will be without their most feared hitter again Tuesday night when they try to match their longest winning streak of the season by sweeping this two-game set with the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks.

With no other options, Gordon remains leadoff
Dee Gordon has had a rough start to the 2012 season, but the Dodgers don't have plans to move him down in the lineup, or to the bench, anytime soon.
Gordon had an 0-for-14 slump through Sunday and is hitting .211 with a .250 on-base percentage. He was held out of the starting lineup Sunday for just the fifth time in 34 games this season.

Expectations for Scott Van Slyke
The Dodgers recently called up one of their top hitting prospects in Scott Van Slyke. Can he contribute right away? Will Mattingly give him the chance?
Ethier makes first start as a center fielder
Given that Matt Kemp followed up his National League MVP runner-up season with a blistering start to the 2012 campaign, it's safe to say the Los Angeles Dodgers will have a hard time replacing their All-Star center fielder. Kemp, hitting .359 with 12 home runs and 28 RBI on the season, was placed on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a strained left hamstring. For the vast...
Matt Kemp & Juan Uribe Go Down, Jerry Sands & Elian Herrera Come Up

The Dodgers' lineup is going to suck for a couple weeks; get over it
Hurry back, Matt.
Look, we all know the Dodgers' lineup was going to suffer without Matt Kemp. But the overreaction to guys getting regular days off is astounding.
The Dodgers lost today in San Diego 4-2. They jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Unfortunately for Chris Capuano, he wasn't as sharp today as he had been in his last six starts (5-0, 1.38 ERA...
Reigning NL Player of the Month Goes to DL
Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers got off to a phenomenal start this season, but it isn’t likely the all-star outfielder will win consecutive player of the month awards. Kemp is heading to the 15-Day DL with a strained left hamstring, after initially suffering the injury on May 5th and then exacerbating it on Sunday.
Kemp’s productivity had diminished since May 5th and...

The MVP talk is already beginning for the Dodgers outfielder — Kemp was only one of four players in MLB history to finish April with at least a .400 batting average, 10 or more home runs and more than 20 RBIs — If he keeps up this pace, he very well could triple crown it.-TO
