Mike Napoli isn’t the only former Texas Ranger to make the move up to Boston this season. Reliever Koji Uehara also called Arlington home last year, and the 38-year-old right-hander has made quite the impression on Red Sox fans during his short tenure with the team. Through his 13 appearances, Uehara holds a 1.54 ERA and has struck out 14 over 11 2/3 innings. He’s also become known for his boundless enthusiasm, as he is often seen high-fiving everyone in the Red Sox dugout after coming off the mound. Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy broke down what has made Uehara so effective during Red Sox Gameday LIVE on Friday. Check it out in the video above.

Mike Napoli's historic night, on a graph

Via @ESPNStatsInfo comes this fun nugget: Mike Napoli hit two 460+-foot bombs last night and was the first player to do so in eight years. Or maybe they just haven't looked at data beyond 2004. OK, the tweet is pretty vague and I'm not finding any info online. But look: They even made a nice graph of it! In case you missed them, videos via MLB.com: Your browser does...

Mike Napoli returns to Texas with Red Sox

Mike Napoli played a major role as the Texas Rangers won an AL championship in 2011 and appeared in the playoffs in each of his two seasons. When he sought a multiyear deal in free agency, though, the team wasn't prepared to commit given his injury history. The Boston Red Sox took a chance on him, and that risk has paid off so far. Napoli faces his former team for the first...

Napoli says it's not ''too weird'' to be back in Texas and that he looks to competing against his good friends. After 54 homers the last two seasons for Texas,...

Mike Napoli Smashes Two Huge Home Runs Against Blue Jays (Video)

How’s that hip feeling, Mike? The first baseman hit two monster home runs Wednesday night in Boston’s 10-1 win in Toronto, with estimates on the blasts coming in at 472 and...

Fan-favorite Napoli says all the right things in return

ARLINGTON, Texas Mike Napoli spent three fewer years with the Texas Rangers than Josh Hamilton did but his homecoming trip to Texas had a much different feel. While Hamilton was booed lustily in his return to Texas in Arlington, the fan favorite Napoli was greeted by cheers, a partial standing ovation and even a "Napoli" chant when he returned Friday at first base for...

Mike Napoli hit 900+ feet of homers on Wednesday

Mike Napoli loves himself some Rogers Centre. Four of Napoli's six homer runs this season have come in the home of the Blue Jays, and three of those four homers have cleared 460 feet. In Wednesday's Red Sox-Blue Jays game in Toronto, Napoli put on an unreal performance of pure strength. In the fourth inning, Napoli hit his first home run of the evening to dead center...

Vulgar display of power: Mike Napoli’s two homers measured 472, 467 feet (video)

Mike Napoli, Boston Red Sox’s power-slugging first baseman, hit two tape measure shots during his team’s 10-1 thrashing of the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre on Wednesday. The Red Sox as a team belted out five round-trippers during the lopsided laugher, but the two moon shots Napoli unleashed were by far the most impressive. The first homer, in the 4th inning of Mark Buehrle...

Mike Napoli Returns to Old Stomping Grounds As Red Sox Prepare for Tough Test in Texas

The Red Sox have played their last seven games against a pair of last-place teams (Houston and Toronto) and handled them with relative ease, going 6-1 over the two series. That respite ends Friday night, when the Sox travel to Arlington to take on the AL West-leading Texas Rangers. Shane Victorino makes his return in right field for Boston after missing seven games with a back injury...

Mike Napoli’s Ranger Homecoming Should Go Much Better Than Josh Hamilton’s, Regardless of Game Outcome (Video)

Mike Napoli will be facing his old team for the first time on Friday night in Texas, but there isn’t likely to be much bad blood in the stadium. After all, Texas fans have probably used up all of their vitriol on another former Ranger, Josh Hamilton. Hamilton, of course, did all but slam the door against his own butt on the way out of the Lone Star State, and the people of Texas...
