There wasn’t very much the Blue Jays could have done to top their rout of the Minnesota Twins in yesterday’s opener, but they came close to doing it today in the second game of the series. So far, the first games have been able making big first impressions – and fans were treated to a dazzling one on the mound, as rookie pitcher Kyle Drabek put on an dominating display today in a 6-1 win over the Twins, allowing just one hit in the process. It was just about the most ideal start you could have asked for from the rookie Drabek. Using a combination of his cutter and curveball to great effect, Drabek pounded the strike zone and was ahead of the Twins hitters all day long, striking out 7 batters in over 7 innings of work. The Twins had nothing on the rookie, managing to hit just two balls into the outfield for the day, including a single from Denard Span in the 6th that broke up what had been Drabek’s no-hitter.
