I don’t necessarily love Adam LaRoche. Or LaLove him, for that matter. Sure, I’d like him more if he slept with a groupie then screamed, “And that’s how you screw LaPooch!” But I have no way of knowing that, and thinking of LaRoche having groupies is like thinking people actually buy John Tesh CDs. Though I do enjoy La Bouche — want to be my lover, be my lover! LaRoche reminds me of the guy you have on your team that you’re looking to drop all season long for anyone that’s hot, but still gives you 25 homers and passable counting stats. Strike that, he doesn’t remind me of that guy. He is that guy. Are you gonna wake up one morning and say to yourself, “I may have been fired, can’t make my mortgage payment this month and have yellow pits on my favorite t-shirt, but I own LaRoche… Today’s gonna be a good day!” Nah, son, shizz ain’t gonna be that sunny, but he’s hitting and healthy and should be owned. Anyway, here’s some more players to buy or sell this week i

At long last, coming in at a whopping eight pounds and 8,000-10,000 calories, the StrasBurger made its auspicious debut at Nationals Park, but buying one will set you back a bit.
Despite whispers that Teddy might finally win one at the 2012 home opener: just another day at Nationals Park, and another loss by Teddy Roosevelt in the Presidents race. Up above, video of Teddy losing down the stretch, yet again. Boos rained down. Via the Washington Post's Adam Kilgore, unabashed Teddy supporter Jayson Werth commented on Teddy's loss after the game:...

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Edwin Jackson threw a two-hitter for his fifth career complete game and Adam LaRoche added to his unusually strong start with a tiebreaking two-run double Saturday, helping the Washington Nationals win their fifth game in a row, 4-1 over the Cincinnati Reds.
Other than a rocky second inning, Jackson (1-0) was as efficient and effective as can be, striking out...

Turns out Jayson Werth did something baseball fans see once every half-century or so.
According to the Nationals, Werth's bases-loaded single to lead Washington past Cincinnati 2-1 made him the first big leaguer since 1963 to deliver a game-ending RBI in the 13th inning on Friday the 13th.
The last time there was a 13-13 just like that, the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the San Francisco...
The Washington Nationals picked up a walk-off win off a wild pitch in the tenth inning Thursday afternoon against the Cincinnati Reds. It was a win that was nearly blown by former Phillies closer Brad Lidge, who coughed up a 2-0 lead in the ninth inning, sending the game to extra innings when the Nationals failed to score a run with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the...
Nationals cleanup hitter Michael Morse will be shut down for about six weeks after aggravating the injured back muscle that already landed the left fielder on the disabled list.
Washington general manager Mike Rizzo says Thursday that surgery is not an option and Morse just will need to rest before resuming rehabilitation. Rizzo won't say how long he expects it to take before...

The Washington Nationals have had just one day off this season, and they wont have another one until April 23. That's a tough stretch to start a campaign. To make matters worse, the team had to take the Cincinnati Reds to extra innings in two consecutive nights leading into today's game in order to claim the victory. To say the least, the Nats needed a big effort from Edwin...
Washington Nationals left fielder Michael Morse will be sidelined for six weeks after aggravating his back.
Morse, who is already on the disabled list, is not in need of surgery. Rest, according to general manager Mike Rizzo, is the primary medicine.
Last season, Morse led the Nationals with a .303 batting average and 31 home runs.
On his way to Seattle earlier this week, Mike Cameron decided he wanted to retire as a member of the Mariners.
Cameron made that decision official Friday before throwing out the first pitch at the Mariners' home opener.
It's a largely ceremonial move. Cameron was signed for the 2012 season by Washington, but informed the Nationals shortly before spring training that he...
Ryan Zimmerman scored on Alfredo Simon's wild pitch with two outs in the 10th inning, helping the Nationals extend their best start since moving to Washington with a 3-2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday.
The Nationals improved to 5-2, good for first place in the NL East and treating an announced sellout crowd of 40,907 to a win w in the home opener for the first...
I hate guys that are injured before the season even starts. I should’ve emphasized that more in the preseason. I should’ve followed my gut on that with Stanton too. At least Stanton can play through the nagging pain (hopefully), on the other hand, Mike Morse is shut down for 6 weeks and he has a history of injuries. (Can you tell I’m still reeling a bit on the Stanton...
