Cubs officials said Milton Bradley was the team's next focus, and one of Bradley's representatives said Friday morning that the Cubs were at the top of Bradley's list. As for how many years and what kind of contract it would take, Bradley's rep said it was too early to say.
Angels GM Tony Reagins on Friday confirmed that he's made an eight-year offer to free agent Mark Teixeira. "It was made during our conversations with agent Scott Boras at the winter meetings," Reagins told MLB.com. "We have a proposal in place for eight years. The specific dollar amount, I won't get into that." It looks like $160 million for eight years is the absolute minimum we'll see for a Teixeira deal. It could take closer to $22 million-$23 million per year to reel him in.
