It's been a hectic five days trying to keep up with all of the Derek Lowe news that has been swirling about. Here is a summary recap of the latest,
Mark Bowman of MLB.com, wrote that the Braves are interested in Derek Lowe, but also made clear that Atlanta is not looking to beat the three-year, $36 million dollar deal that he rejected from the Mets.
Jon Heyman of SI.com, reported that in addition to the Braves, the Phillies, Red Sox, Brewers and Angels are all interest in signing Lowe, however none of them have reportedly made any offers as of yet.
On Friday, Derek Lowe and Scott Boras stated that they are looking for at least $16 million dollars per year and that they rejected the Mets $36 Million/3-Year offer. Lowe said that he considered himself as good as A.J. Burnett and that he expected to be paid like him.
The trouble with that is that the Yankees overpaid Burnett, so why does Lowe think any other team would be stupid enough to do the same thing?
