Lee and Soto could lose playing time

Lou Piniella said after the loss last night that Geovany Soto and Derrek Lee will probably start losing playing time to Micah Hoffpauir and Koyie Hill. Lou says a lot of things that never actually happen. Remember Lou talking about Bradley hitting 6th when he came back from the injury? How many times has that happened? Once? It’s kind of strange that he’s singling out Lee at thiit’s still a s point considering he has actually started to hit a little bit, though he still looks like an old man doing it. Soto losing playing time has become inevitable. It doesn’t really matter who the back-up is, you can’t keep sending a guy out there who is sucking at the plate. Hill probably won’t be any better, but it’s still a move that has to be made at some point. It won’t be long before Fontenot will begin losing chunks of playing time too. Don’t be too surprised to see Jake Fox play some in RF in the coming weeks if Bradley doesn’t start hitting either. This lineup in a few weeks could be one that we would have laughed at prior to the start of the season. We would have said there’s no way all of that can go wrong. Well, so far it has. And somehow, despite all of that the team is 21-17. Things can’t get any worse.
