The Victory Formation:
Twitter is easily my favorite social media site. It’s the best place to get news and cool stories while allowing for just enough broadcasting that you actually get news from outside your chosen cone if you engage with it. Still, I usually hate twitter controversies. Bill Simmons is “angry” with ESPN again? Boo. Football players aren’t, en masse, erudite and inspiring thinkers? Yawn. But sometimes an athlete can break through and be just cool enough or dumb enough to sort of shock you. Come on down, Ian Stewart! Ian Stewart’s twitter “meltdown” last night hasn’t been the sort of lightning rod for controversy that it would be if it involved a really good major leaguer or a Yankee or a Met. Ian Stewart has put together a middling track record in the majors and he plays for the Cubs after underwhelming for the Rockies for a few years. It’s a story, sure, but it’s not much of a cause célèbre and that’s sort of too bad because it’s pretty funny. The level of delusion that Ian Stewart has to live under to believe that he deserves an every day job at the major league level is baffling. He’s a career [...]

3. Pierce Johnson – The 22 year old supplemental first round pick from 2012 is probably a little too old for his level, but he's been dominating. He only logged 11 innings after the draft last year,...
This is the 2nd installment of our monthly prospect review. This time, I'll be taking the prospects that have been falling over the last month or so, and dmick89 will take the Rising prospects (and have our Top 15-ish list).

Hey, the Cubs decided to win today! This should be easy. Your Bright Spots:
I'd be remiss to not start with this one: much-maligned Starlin Castro had a 3-7 day, including a 450-foot home run that the wind somehow knocked down into the ivy for a double. Even more than that, though, his at-bats looked really good today, and he seemed to be seeing the ball really well. Am I going...
David DeJesus will be placed on the disabled list with a right shoulder strain according to CSN Chicago's Patrick Mooney.
Check that: Shoulder sprain for DeJesus. Cubs waiting for swelling to go down next week, considering calling up extra bullpen arm.

In the contest Feldman lowered his ERA to 3.05 and his WHIP to 1.10. He will face...
Check out the video. NBC sportscaster Bob Costas referred to the New York Mets 4-3 victory celebration over the Chicago Cubs as an “indication of the ongoing decline of Western Civilization.”
David DeJesus hit a bases-loaded triple before injuring his shoulder when he crashed into the outfield wall, and the Chicago Cubs beat the New York Mets 6-3 on Friday night behind resurgent starter Edwin Jackson.
Nate Schierholtz homered and Anthony Rizzo had three hits for Chicago in the opener of a three-game series between big-market teams trying to rebuild. Jackson (3-8) went...
