The Los Angeles Angels and Miami Marlins dominated the MLB Winter Meetings this past week in Dallas. Yes, you heard me right. Not the Boston Red Sox, who failed to make any move. Not even the Philadelphia Phillies, who did nothing this week, yet were able to sign Jonathan Papelbon to a lucrative contract last month. Even the Texas Rangers, who had become big spenders over the past couple of offseasons, were only able to watch their top starting pitcher walk away this week, while their divisional rivals lured him back to his home. Angels Sign C.J. Wilson Too, It Just Keeps Getting Better

Jerry Dipoto just can't be stopped. On the same morning he signs Albert Pujols, he also adds C.J. Wilson. The latter being added for a much more reasonable five years and $77.5 million. By comparison to Pujols, that looks like he is practically free. More importantly, that contract is smaller when compared to Jered Weaver, so it seems that Dipoto got Wilson for a pretty...

The Los Angeles Angels sign Latroy Hawkins

The Angels have signed 38-year old righty reliever Latroy Hawkins to a 1-year, $3 million dollar deal. Hawkins pitched in 52 games (0 starts) for the Brewers last year and he was 3-1 with a 2.42 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP. He has now pitched in 823 games (98 starts) in his first 17 years in the majors and he is 63-85 with 87 saves, a 4.48 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP. This was a good move for...

Albert Pujols to Sign 10-Year, $250M Pact with Angels

The Los Angeles Angels swooped in to win the Albert Pujols sweepstakes with a quarter-billion dollar offer the superstar slugger just could not refuse. Video: Jose Reyes talks to reporters after press conference

By now most everyone has read the comments made by former New York Mets shortstop Jose Reyes with regards to the way he was pursued by the Miami Marlins once the free agency period began.  To hear the 28-year-old talk about that and listen to his comments about feeling unwanted by the Mets because they never made an offer, check out the video clip below, courtesy of ESPNNewYork.com:

Video: This deal could pay for itself

SportsTalk: Why did the Angels sign Albert Pujols? In addition to how much better he makes the lineup, he also could help the Angels take the LA market by force, and increase their already healthy television revenues. (NBC Sports)
