Found April 20, 2013 on FF Locker Room:
PLAYERS: Mark Lowe
TEAMS: Los Angeles Angels
MLB News: The Los Angeles Angels placed pitcher Mark Lowe on the disabled list Saturday as he is suffering from a stiff neck. The 29 year old has spent eight seasons in the majors, tallying a 3.43 earned run average in 39.1 innings pitched last season while striking out 28 hitters. He has struggled in 2013, his first year with the Angels, walking 8 in just 6.1 innings pitched, topping out at a 11.37 ERA. They are expected to call up Tommy Field to take Lowe’s roster spot. Fantasy Ramifications: Lowe holds no fantasy value as a middle-reliever as his ratio’s are below average and would only hurt, not help your team. Considering that he has only won 8 games in his career, there is very little to peg hope on. Once activated from the DL keep him on the waiver wire. He doesn’t deserve to be owned in the deepest of leagues. Angels Classic Rewind | Dateline: April 21st, 2002

APRIL 21, 2002 GAME 18 - ANGELS AT A’S OAKLAND -- The Angels got a solid performance from their starting pitcher, played good defense and had timely hitting. But when their game against the Oakland A's ended, the Angels walked off the field with their heads down. Greg Myers hit a pinch-hit, three-run homer in the ninth inning off Angels closer Troy Percival to lift the...

Chicks Dig the Long Ball: Mike Trout Nails First Career Grand Slam

There was some concern during spring training that defending AL Rookie of the Year Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels was coming in a little out of shape; that his freshman success had possibly made him complacent so he put on some weight. He has already dispelled any notion that he is complacent by hitting over .300 knocking in 11 and scoring 11. On Saturday he hit his second...

Angels place Alberto Callaspo on DL

The Los Angeles Angels have placed third baseman Alberto Callaspo on the 15-day disabled list due to right calf tightness, the team has announced. Callaspo suffered the injury during Thursday night’s contest against the Oakland Athletics. Initially, the Angels only expected him to miss a few days before returning, but he’ll instead require at least two weeks on the...

Batting change would boost Angels

Angels manager Mike Scioscia already has dropped left fielder Mike Trout to the No. 2 spot in the batting order. Might it be time for Scioscia to make a similar adjustment with right fielder Josh Hamilton? The Angels are starting to roll, coming off their first sweep of the season against the Tigers. But on Sunday, the Angels' No. 3 hitter, Albert Pujols, again received multiple...

Angels Classic Rewind | Dateline: April 20th, 2002

By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor -  APRIL 20, 2002 GAME 17 -ANGELS AT A’S OAKLAND -- A couple of Angels could not agree on who was at fault for their 8-7 loss to the Oakland A's Saturday afternoon before 20,253 at the Oakland Coliseum. There was first baseman Scott Spiezio, who made a throwing error in the eighth inning that led to two unearned runs. And...

Trumbo hits walk-off homer in 13th

Mark Trumbo homered leading off the bottom of the 13th inning and Albert Pujols doubled home two runs, leading the Los Angeles Angels to a 4-3 victory over Detroit on Sunday for their second straight series sweep of the Tigers. Detroit lefty Phil Coke (0-2) intentionally walked Pujols with two outs and the bases empty in the 12th before striking out Josh Hamilton on three pitches...

Mercyful Fate; Angels walk off on Tigers 4-3

In a game that looked like it was in the pooper early on the Angels managed to pull a hard, and I mean hard, fought victory. The Angels offense struggled through most of the game, failing to collect crucial hits in 7 of their 8 RISP opportunities. What really gets me excited is how the Angels battled against the such a heralded AL team, a team thought by many to play deep into the...

Trumbo hits walk-off as Halos sweep Tigers

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- Mark Trumbo homered leading the bottom of the 13th inning and Albert Pujols doubled home two runs, leading the Los Angeles Angels to a 4-3 victory over Detroit on Sunday for their second straight series sweep of the Tigers. Detroit lefty Phil Coke (0-2) intentionally walked Pujols with two outs and the bases empty in the 12th before striking out Josh Hamilton...

First Inning Beatdown; Angels demolish Tigers 10-0

Last night it was tempting to treat the offensive explosion as a one game anomoly. But after the first inning of today's game, I think it is safe to say the Angel bats are wide awake. Nine runs in an innng doesn't happen very often and it also marked the second day the team has batted around in as many days. Alhough they didn't tear the cover off the ball in the inning...

Bats come out to play as Halos rout Tigers 8-1

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- Peter Bourjos had three hits and three RBIs, Mike Trout and Albert Pujols drove in two runs apiece, and the Los Angeles Angels slowed the worst start in franchise history with an 8-1 victory over Torii Hunter and the Detroit Tigers on Friday night. Pujols had three hits and Brendan Harris added an early RBI double for the Angels, who had a season-high 16...

Game 2013.17: Tigers at Angels

After last night’s deflating loss, of a type we’ve seen before this season and would rather not see any more of, the Tigers send out RHP Rick Porcello against Angels RHP Garrett Richards. Porcello missed his last start due to an off-day shuffle type thing; instead, he turned in a perfect two innings in what I think was his first regular-season (at least) bullpen appearance ever...

Offense hits on all cylinders, Angels defeat Tigers

Hey look, an offense!! It's about freakin' time the Angels hit and scored some runs. Add to that some Harry Houdini like pitching and, Voila!, the Halos get a victory. Now let's not get carried away; one win does not a division title make. However, there were a lot of positive signs to take away from tonight's game. Let the good times roll!! Angels 8 Tigers 1...
