In the second inning of last night’s 10-2 win over the San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp winced in pain after a swing-and-a-miss against SF starter Matt Cain. As Dodgers fans everywhere held their breath, team trainer Sue Falsone came out to check on Kemp, who stayed in the game but was replaced by Carl Crawford a few innings later. Kemp underwent off-season labrum surgery on his left shoulder stemming from the injuries he sustained crashing into the center field wall in Coors Field in Colorado last season. While he just recently came back from a D.L. stint related to a hamstring injury, last night’s incident could potentially sideline him further – if it turns out to be anything serious. The Dodgers’ official announcement indicates that the issue is more of a scare than something to be worried about: Update: Matt Kemp left tonight’s ballgame with left shoulder AC joint irritation. Kemp is listed day to day. — Los Angeles Dodgers (@Dodgers) July 6, 2013 ...
