The Mets are looking a for situational lefty on a one year inexpensive deal. Andy Martino seems to think Ron Mahay could fit that description, the Mets were interested in him last off-season but ended up going with Ron Villone who didn't work out. The 40y/o Mahay has 14 seasons of experience with a lifetime ERA of 3.83 and last year with the Twins he appeared in 41 games with a 3.44 ERA in which he finished 11 games ( no saves). Since 2003 he has only pitched half a season in the NL, second half of 2007 he was with Atlanta after a trade in which his ERA was 2.25 in 30 games.
