A 24-year-old man was stabbed to death at about midnight Wednesday after a fight broke out at a Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants Game at AT&T Park. The San Francisco Medical Examiner identified the man as Jonathan Denver but did not immediately say where he lived. San Francisco police have not released many details about the stabbing which was reported at 11:39 p.m. at Third and Harrison streets four blocks from the ballpark other than that they had detained three people. No arrests have been made. Denver with his father and brother both wearing Dodgers blue when the fight broke out a police sergeant told NBC Bay Area. The 24-year-old was not wearing any baseball clothing the sergeant said. The Giants won Thursday's game 6-4. The Giants-Dodgers rivalry is regarded as one of the most competitive in American baseball stemming in part from when both teams used to play in the New York City area before coming out West. And sometimes that rivalry plays out brutally among the fans - much to the chagrin of many who feel that sporting events fuel senseless fighting. People who don't even know the victim were sending their good wishes to his family. A little more than two years ago Giants fan Bryan Stow of Santa Cruz Calif. was brutally beaten on March 31 2011 in a parking lot outside of the Dodgers' stadium in Los Angeles. Stow survived the attack but suffered permanent brain damage. He returned home after two years of rehabilitative treatment earlier this year. Stow's alleged attackers have pleaded not guilty and Stow's family is suing the Dodgers stadium for compensation. Ironically the Giants held a fundraiser for Stow on Tuesday and have two more planned for Thursday and Sunday.
